Wills & Trusts
An estate plan is important for ease of transition for your loved ones upon your death. Having a Last Will and Testament makes your wishes clear for those you leave behind. A Will outlines how you wish your estate to be divided, who you wish to serve as guardian of your children, what you would like to see happen with your real estate and any charitable gifts you’d like to make.
There are a number of situations in which a trust may be helpful. A common tool is to avoid probate. A revocable trust may be created during one’s lifetime while allowing one to maintain control of their assets in their lifetime. These types of trusts become irrevocable upon the death of that individual. Irrevocable trusts can provide also protection of assets from Medicare/Medicaid or in the event of financial crisis.
