Modification

Over time your family evolves, and circumstances change.  Occasionally, that will require a modification of a prior Probate and Family Court Judgment. When there has been a material change in circumstance, such as losing a job, a relocation, a health matter, or a change in the needs of a child, a party may file a modification.  Another common example of when a modification may be necessary when a child is entering college.  A modification asks the court to change the prior order to accommodate the new circumstance of the parties.

It is important to seek a modification through the Court so as to avoid being found in violation, or contempt, of having violated the current order. Contact Tansley | Halloran to determine whether you should file a for a modification.
